The Paint Annapolis Event began on Sunday, June 4, 2023, with a 2 hour event called “Dueling brushes.” I made an ink sketch that included some of the other artists that were painting on the City Dock. I am pleased to tell you that I won 2nd place in this event.
The Nocturne painting competition associated with the Paint Annapolis event was held on June 7th. I painted on City Dock for this event too. The sky was filled with haze, courtesy of wildfires in Quebec, Canada. As a result, the sky was a silvery grey and the water also had a silvery shimmer in addition to deep purples and greens. The competition requires a painting done either at dusk or during the overnight period. I chose to do my painting at dusk.
